Hello, my name is Al Pascal and I am the
proprietor of Treasure Hunt Antiques. I have been working in the
antique business since 1985. I worked for a local antique dealer named Bob Ogorek who
owned and operated a shop called Plantation Galleries in my hometown of
Burton Michigan. Mr. Ogorek had one of
the largest privately owned collections of antiques in the
country. I worked at Plantation Galleries until they closed the
doors in April, 2000. Mr. Ogorek had passed away and his entire
collection had to be sold.
While at Plantation Galleries, Mr. Ogorek
gave me an education in antiques that I could not have paid for at any
college in the world. Plantation Galleries had over 20,000 square
feet of wall to wall antiques. Mr. Ogorek was one of the country's
top experts in the field of Tiffany lamps and other items manufactured
by Tiffany Studios. He was a dealer of other fine quality leaded
and reverse painted lamps from the time period as well. Leaded
lamps by makers such as; Tiffany, Duffner&Kimberly, Wilkinson,
Williamson, Seuss, Gorham and others. Reverse painted lamps by
makers such as; Handel, Pairpoint, Moe Bridges, Jefferson, Classique,
Pittsburgh, and Phoenix. The gallery was always well stocked in
American and European art glass as well. Makers like Steuben,
Quezal, Galle, Daum Nancy, Webb, Loetz and more. There were also
hundreds of clocks, antique furniture, pottery, Icart
etchings, oil paintings, prints, stained glass
windows, gas pumps, advertising signs, cash
registers, and on and on and on. Oh yea there were antique
tractors and hit-n-miss engines too. As you can see I had quite a
learning experience while working for Mr. Ogorek. I gained
knowledge in many areas of antiques and collecting.
Now that Bob is gone I know he would want me
to use the knowledge he gave me, thus the creation of Treasure Hunt
Antiques. Since I am just
starting out I will be selling via mail order out of my
house. Most of my sales will be on my website and items I put up
for auction on eBay. Maybe someday I will have a shop like Plantation Galleries
but for now this virtual gallery on the internet will have to do. Please check my website and my eBay
auctions frequently and help me make Treasure Hunt Antiques a
success.
